When did you first realize you wanted to pursue a career as a jewelry maker?

I suppose I was born knowing what will follow, my grandmother used to say that one of my first words was ‘’lilikia’’, which is basically the earrings.

When I was four years old, I made my first fully developed piece of jewelry. From back then I was saying that I will always make jewelry. There was never another option than to become a jewelry maker.

Who have been your biggest mentors in your career and what is the best advice they have ever given you?

I keep close to my heart the words of Elena Nathanael, she was my first celebrity client and, in my opinion, the most beautiful actress in her generation.

I feel very lucky that I had the chance to meet her at the beginning of my career and be honored with her friendship and support.

If you could go back and tell yourself one thing before beginning your career what would it be?

From my first day as a jewelry maker, I was inspired by H. Ford's words: “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.”

Now that I have several flight hours let’s say, I would like to add that the stronger the wind the more spectacular the takeoff.

What was your biggest fear when you started?

On my first steps, I was unaware of the dangers, maybe due to my young age. (I started my business when I was 19 years old).

As I get older, I try to cultivate that ignorance, because I know very well now that fear can’t help you grow. When it comes to inspiration & creativity, there should be no limit.

What do you want people to feel when wearing your jewelry?

Most of the jewelry is custom made, it bears the essence of the person, it is as unique and precious as the one that wears it. They bring joy, a sense of luxury, and happiness to the owner.

Name two icons you admire - one living and one that has passed away.

There so many, but if I had to choose two I have to say:

Melina Merkouri, a great woman with an amazing personality, an artist, and a politician which I admire and wish I had the chance to meet her and see her in my creations.

Last but certainly not least Vivienne Westwood, I admire her for her vast talent and her rebellious aesthetic she changed fashion with her unique perspective.

What a happy accident that we share the same zodiac sign!

Do you have a most treasured item in your personal jewelry collection?

I have more than one, most of them are jewelry I have made during the first year of my studies, and during the 23 years of my career. I also have a lot of family jewelry that I take care of like the apple of my eye.

And last, a lovely pendant/charm from Beirut that was a gift from a very special person in my life.  And not a day passes that I don’t wear it...

What is the true meaning of your charm for the next year? What can we expect from 2021?

The inspiration behind 2021‘s lucky charm speaks to the soul.

It is said that the human soul weighs 21 grams.

Our soul is our precious mark in life, our personal mark that we leave on the world during our lifetime.

The essence of our 2021 lucky charm is better given in Maya Angelou's words: ” Make a mark on the world that can't be erased.”

The golden lucky charm by NadiaBele kosmima is a pendant/stamp '21 (it comes with sealing wax). It weighs 21 grams (including the chain).

Its height is 21mm and it takes 21 seconds to leave your “precious mark”.

2020 was a year that offered us the opportunity to reevaluate all the things that matter in life. I wish that the new year will find as more mature and ready to restart in all the ways that really matter.

Happy and Blessed New Year to everyone!
